The Award Winning County Donegal Heritage Railway Museum’s (also known as the CDRRL) aims are to develop and promote a robust and dynamic railway heritage facility, which will be of interest across a wide section of society, but particularly to the local community. We wish to keep the history and unique heritage of the County Donegal Railways alive through the running of the Museum and the economic restoration of rolling stock and traction. We contribute to Donegal town and the wider area through being a major part of Donegal’s tourist offer, creating employment, bringing investment into the area, being an important community asset used by all, playing an important part in the cultural life of the town, and being a mecca for railway enthusiasts globally! As a charity like many heritage groups, we would not exist without the support of Members and the wider public. Members help sustain this local organisation while enjoying many outstanding benefits throughout the year.

We have exciting plans for the new future including:

• Upgrading our museum and improve visitor experience
• Continue to rescue, restore and showcase Donegal’s Railway Heritage
• Record the stories of the Donegal Railway before they are lost forever
• Increased Community engagement, including outreach to local schools

• Working with other external stakeholders in continuing to develop our unique offer, in playing a central part in local tourism and economic regeneration

Please ensure you supply an email address for all future correspondence as we are working towards a paperless system where possible.
