Delighted to see the new improved signage around Donegal Town which is part of a €100k+ project which was instigated by the Donegal Railway Museum, who brought in Donegal Town Community Chamber, Donegal County Council, the Donegal Business Focus Group and Mayor Pauric Kennedy to formulate and deliver this unique project.
The project was funded through the Town and Village Renewal Scheme and is for new direction signage around Donegal Town, new tourist information boards and new maps, new banners around the Diamond, a new path from the Craft Village to the town and new pavement markers.
Niall McCaughan, Manager of the Railway Centre stated: “We are delighted to have brought this unique project forward for Donegal Town and for the way our partners worked together to deliver it. In particular, we would like to thank Mary McGettigan of Donegal Town Community Chamber and her team who administered and delivered it, as well as former Donegal Railway Museum Manager Donna Maskery, who had the original idea and brought this unique partnership together. The new signage, etc., will give visitors to our town a better experience, as we showcase this beautiful historic place, which is a must-see on any visitor’s itinerary in the County and on this island.”
