‘Modern Modeling’ – 3D printing in Railway Modeling

The Donegal Railway Heritage Centre in partnership with the FabLab Ballyshannon bring you this fantastic event bringing the art of modeling together with the modern technology of 3D printing.

    • View displays of 3D printed models of the Donegal Town Railway Station House, Carriages and Heritage Centre Exhibits
    • Visit the Donegal Railway Heritage Museum
  • 2:30PM Talk on “Process of using 3D printing in Modeling” by Liam from the FabLab Ballyshannon
  • 3PM The Importance of 3D printing in “Preserving Railway Heritage”
  • 3:20PM Q & A for Liam & Mark
  • 3:30PM Demo of 3D printing by the FabLab Ballyshannon
  • 3:30PM – Close OPEN HOUSE

Donegal Railway Heritage Centre

Not on view is the restoration work continuing on steam locomotive Drumboe, now 60% complete at the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland in Whitehead Antrim, who also store our working example of a 3-foot gauge Ruston diesel loco.
